But if you pref to watch a team playing their non ‘basketball’ brand of rugger, do exerise away.
Hope you don’t nod off tho.
It’s about efficiently scoring the most pts when in possession & likewise in stopping the oppo from scoring when not in possession. If you think that ‘game management’ or moribunndly kicking the lard off it, intersperced with R1 & some maladroit offloads is your choice, then do check the rankings again. Do you actually pref Wales to be 6th?! Deary me.
]]>What with Your logo of the guy with the blind patch!?
How ironic!
Couldn’t make it up could you?
Surely, you’re having a giraffe?
]]>Still banging the norovirus drum I see. #whine #whining #whiner
You won’t get another response from me about this. I’ve been down this route with you too many times before. I know I’m shouting into the void by even replying as you do not take anyone else’s points on board, ever.
]]>You’re sooo R1 & ‘English’, but then, is that the point?
‘Never watch Super 15′. Well you have actually as you’ve prev described it as ‘basketball’ rugby, but you again miss the point, just as you did with the nororvirus thing.
It’s not entertainment that Auckland were going for, it’s tries to help win a game in the title race. These are worth 5, or usually 7 points. And as S15 rugby produces teams ranked 1, 2 & 3 in world rugger (occaisonally with wings scoring tries along the way), perhaps the NH could try the same. Maybe then they can 1 day break into the top 3.
I suppose you won’t be watching the June series in case it ‘turns you off’.
]]>‘Hero of the Week … Jonny’? Well, he kicked his goals & so was the pts accumulator. In other words, he was effective. This ‘hero’ stuff is for ‘Boy’s own’ books. He’s been out of the England set up for 5 yrs now. Mind you, could they use another fly1/2 in June?
As for Steffon Armitage? MotM award, 4 (or 5, he joked) t/overs, Euro player of the yr etc, etc. But as he’s in France & it protects English rugger, which is vital of course, it makes sense not to pick him for NZ… esp with Robshaw @ o/side who had a whole 2 t/overs in the last 6N (acc to the S Times)! Ah well.
And surpise, surpise, the canes, caned (perlease!) the Chiefs.
]]>Think it was mentioned in commentary that Ford’s performance summed up Bath’s season. Looked hugely impressive at times but when the pressure is on they haven’t been able to deliver.
For Saracens, I thought almost all players played well, but just weren’t good enough. One thing that really stood out for me was Goode’s effort (or lack thereof) to cover for the Giteau try.
I was sitting right in that corner, and I’m convinced that if he put his head down, he would have beaten Mitchell to the ball and been able to carry it into touch. A couple of other times he let kicks bounce which you would have thought he would be able to get to them on the full.
]]>Never watch Super 15 but did this weekend with The Blues coach now confirmed. Lots of exciting attacking on offer but I felt curiously underwhelmed by it. It was the 7s approach that turned me off – turning down easily kickable pens when you are 2 points up indicates a desire to entertain over and above the desire to win. I can understand that this is what some people want but it turns me off. If my team win then I’m entertained enough. If my team look like they’re taking daft options in order to win in style then I’m not enjoying it.
