1 – Dany Priso (La Rochelle)
Priso was so destructive in the loose, making a very powerful break in the 1st minute and also stood up to Marty Moore in the scrum.
2 – Pierre Bougarit (La Rochelle)
Made an outstanding break in the 16th minute win the lead-up to his own close-range try and was consistent in his set-piece as well.
3 – Tadgh Furlong (Leinster)
Furlong, the Wexford Bull, put in a mighty shift for his province against the Chiefs, working tirelessly in the loose with some powerful carries and also was dominant in the scrum in a man-of-the-match performance.
4 – Devin Toner (Leinster)
Toner had a try harshly chalked off but that didn’t stop him from being top-notch in his lineout work and put in some solid carries in a gruelling match between Leinster and Exeter.
5 – Sebastien Vahaamahina (Clermont)
The tall, menacing French lock was a key part in Clermont’s famous away destruction of Saracens, being troublesome for Saracens in the carry and was pretty much faultless in his line out work.
6 – Kelian Galletier (Montpellier)
Galletier barged his way over from some distance after a fine Aaron Cruden pass for his 1st try and snuck through the hard defence to score from 22 minutes for his second, really robust for the rest of his tenure.
7 – Chris Cloete (Munster)
At the heart of Munster’s destruction of Leicester’s attack at the breakdown and also got a try in a resounding Champions Cup debut performance for the South African.
8 – Louis Picamoles (Montpellier)
The giant Frenchman was at it again on Friday night, was really robust in the carry and constantly tested Glasgow as Montpellier got their first win of the competition.
9 – Gareth Davies (Scarlets)
Davies was really good against a spirited Benetton, scoring a try from a scintillating team move and scoring another with great footwork, pace and a nice fend.
10 – Jonny Sexton (Leinster)
Orchestrated his side beautifully with the deftest of hands and made some lovely cross-field kicks, including one that lead to his own try in the corner.
11 – Alivereti Raka (Clermont)
Absolutely destroyed Saracens defence with his pace and footwork to score a thrilling hatrick of tries (the fastest in the competition for 20 years) and set up his teammate Flip van der Merwe for a stunning try. Really great stuff from the flying Fijian.
12 – Levani Botia (La Rochelle)
I know he was playing on the flank on Sunday but there was no room in my backrow and he can play centre so that’s why he’s here at 12. He was simply outstanding throughout the game, showcasing both his power and his pace to score two tries in a riveting La Rochelle performance.
13 – Sam Arnold (Munster)
Arnold, on his Champions Cup debut for Munster, was so destructive in defence and constantly halted any momentum from the Tigers.
14 – Steff Evans (Scarlets)
Steff Evans scored one try and set up another with a perfectly judged grubber kick to save his side from a famous away victory for Benetton Treviso.
15 – Dan Evans (Ospreys)
Evans was electric for a galvanising Ospreys against a seriously underperforming Northampton, skipping past one defender for his 1st try, running a lovely inside lien to set up fellow centre Fonotia and scored his second by bursting through 3 defenders.

What no Aviva Prem players…….??

Well obviously Rugger80 considering no Aviva Premiership team won this weekend

I know, I know…bit of tongue in cheek there…

i watched Munster totally bully the Tigers at Thomond which was more than a little disconcerting, given the number of EPS stalwarts in the Leicester side.

yes quite disconcerting, but we had Genge out and forget to question the ref. We will have Toomua, Tuilagi and Polota-nau for Sunday’s game so I wouldn’t be surprised if Leicester pulled off a win
