European Challenge Cup 2016/17: Round 2 Predictions

Bath Rugby

I think this tournament lived up to its billing last weekend…

The only redeeming feature I can see is that there’s some Rugby to watch on a Thursday night. Here are my SuperBru predictions for Round 2, after a slightly disappointing 7/10 in Round 1.

BATH to beat Bristol by 33 – a shame that the first West Country derby for a while will feature second XVs
STADE FRANCAIS to beat Timisoara Saracens by 53 – who?
LA ROCHELLE to beat Bayonne by 23 – Luis was right in the comments last week, La Rochelle do seem to care
CARDIFF BLUES to beat Pau by 16 – Pau probably don’t care though
ENISEI-STM to beat Newport Gwent Dragons by 3 – tricky one, but home Siberian advantage swings it
GLOUCESTER RUGBY to beat Benetton Treviso by 33 – hopefully a confidence-builder for Gloucester at Kingsholm
WORCESTER WARRIORS to beat Brive by 7 – home advantage
EDINBURGH to beat Harlequins by 2 – not sure about this one, home advantage
LYON to beat Ospreys by 6 – another tough one, but backing the home team in France
NEWCASTLE FALCONS to beat Grenoble by 6 – anyone still awake?
