It was an average performance for me in Round 1 of this competition, with 7 correct picks out of 10 just behind the Superbru average of 7.05.
With a bit of form to go on now, let’s see if we can improve on that.
Agen v Treviso
The French side were thrashed at Harlequins last weekend, which has likely diminished any appetite for this tournament. Treviso had a big win, and I wonder if they’ll fancy it a little more. Treviso by 2
La Rochelle v Enisei-STEM
It was a 61-point margin in the reverse fixture, so this could get very ugly. I would think the French side will rest some players though, so let’s rein it in a little. La Rochelle by 43
Dragons v Northampton
I’m going for a home win here, because I suspect the Saints won’t be too focused on this tournament. Dragons by 7
Pau v Stade Francais
Always pick the home team in an all-French affair. Pau by 4
Zebre v Bristol
Another reverse fixture from last weekend, in which Bristol won by 21 points at home. I think they’ll win this, but not by that much. Bristol by 13
Worcester v Ospreys
Both sides had good wins over the French last week. I’m leaning towards the home team here. Worcester by 2
Clermont v Timisoara Saracens
Clermont made a statement by taking a strong team to Franklins Gardens and subsequently dismantling Northampton. They’ll win this at a canter. Clermont by 38
Sale v Connacht
Not really sure without seeing the teams, but picking the home team feels a bit safer. Sale by 8
Bordeaux v Perpignan
As above, this should be a home win in the French tie. Bordeaux by 13
Grenoble v Harlequins
With Grenoble being thrashed by Treviso last week, I would like to think Quins will travel to France and give this a real crack. Harlequins by 7

Saints by 7! Looking at the team sheet, Saints might be taking this a bit more seriously, and as you said last week “Dragons are a bit crap”.
Worcester v Ospreys is a bit trickier, gone for Ospreys, but I’m really not sure, it will probably be Worcester and end up denying me a perfect ten again like they did last week!
As for the rest, pretty much the same, except gone for heftier wins for both Clermont and La Rochelle.

Clermont – 65, yes or no?

What happened to your rule of always picking the French team at home?
0
The rule is never to pick the French team away!

Will you turn into a ‘Honey Badger’ if you do?

Oh OK, although after this week, may I suggest a never pick them away and always pick them at home rule!

I think that’s probably wise! The French, so predictable…
