After we posted a Superhero XV last week, one inspired reader wrote in with a Super-Villain XV to take them on in the exhibition match to end all exhibition matches! So, thanks to Phil Llewellyn, here it is:
1. Kingpin – not the most athletic but a brute and not scared to show a nasty side.
2. Doctor Octopus – great darts come line-out time! Mobile as well. Doesn’t miss many tackles with eight limbs.
3. Bane – Physical and athletic. Adds a hard edge to the front row.
4. Shredder – Tall, physical and surprisingly athletic due to all the martial arts.
5. Galactus – a devouring giant. Perfect for scrum and breakdowns. Costs a lot to feed though!
6. Dr Doom – big hits! Watch out for the steel-plated forearm smash.
7. Sabertooth – watching him vs Wolverine at the breakdown would be worth the entry fee alone.
8. Magneto – big, strong, no danger of concussion due to his helmet. Not sure it’s World Rugby-certified though…
9. The Joker – great criminal mind. Speed of thought over speed of action. Always has a plan.
10. Ra’s al Ghul – criminal master mind and born leader. All the right skills to pull the strings at 10.
11. Norman Osborne (Green Goblin) – mobile on his hover board. Slightly psychotic but that can be overlooked!
12. General Zod – as tough as Superman and has all the same skills. A nasty edge to him as well!
13. Bullseye – one shot, one kill. The type of accuracy you need in a back line.
14. Venom – Has all the skills of Spider-Man but packs a greater punch. Hopefully remembers his gumshield!
15. The Riddler – will always keep the defence guessing.
Manager – Alex Luthor. Greatest mind of them all and well-funded too. The team won’t be lacking when it comes to stash with Lex funding things.
Remind yourself of the Superhero XV here – then vote in our poll below. Who would win at rugby – good or evil?
Harley Quinn as hooker?!
id rather see venom at 8 (just too much power), magneto at 10 (very cunning and smart) and someone else at the wing (may be mystique ?? or azazal).
in respect to the game, the scrum with be for the villains no doubt, as they have galactus. but if the heroes manage to take the ball at the back of the scrum quick, they would definitely get some good metres with hulk. if wolverine manages to clean the ruck quick, the heroes would score easy try if they manage to get the ball quickly to flash.
but we all know that fowards wins games, not backs, so at the end the villains would won. galactus is just too much, and wit dr octopus hooking and bothering opposition front row with its lambs.
Surely Bullseye has to play at either hook or fly-half. What use is a man who never misses playing at 13?
