Aran – Anglicised version of Oileáin Árann – Aran Island – Geog lesson – off coast of Ireland! – people of which tend to be pasty white as opposed to pacific Islanders.

I was very impressed with the perfromance of DTH Van Der Merwe but other than that Canada didn’t offer much resistance.
Sexton played well, back row looked good but other than that it wasn’t that impressive a performance for Ireland, should of scored 70

well after watching the drivel that was the wales performance today, i am going to sit down and watch the ire match again for some decent rugby. wales made to look very ordinary by a team of amateurs. i think j schmidt has a plan for progression at this rwc, to peak around the french match, wales were really bad here. shows they have no strength in depth. ire played some lovely moves. sexton really played well managed some great moves. hard to fault the performance and there is a lot more to come from js and his team. in joe we trust

Thought Ireland were ok. Canadia were so poor though I think 50 points is about par, that could have been a 70 point thrashing if they had played to their ability. I also thought their dummy runners were often in font of the passer which might get pinged in a higher profile match.

Still France weren’t great in their match either. To not get a BP against such an abject Italian side could cost them top spot.

Well done Ireland but I think only the Irish would have enjoyed the game. Just too much of a walk in the park for them. Not exciting to watch.. I was willing Canada to make it more of a fight.
