If Eddie reads this he might give you the Chris Jones treatment

When – most clubs have a player with a similar characteristic; in fact I’d say I was similar – one great hit that everyone’s so busy talking about they forget the 9 half tackles that preceded it!! (Slightly tongue in cheek but you get the idea) I’d rather he simply ankled every 19st brute that ran down his channel

When he gets it right, it’s worth it and, is why he’s conitinuously given this role!

Played in far more brutal game and had a much higher impact across more areas of the game.

He was aggressive in defense, putting in several massive hits that halted Welsh attacks. Not to mentioned a vital turnover and then cover in behind to stop the Shingler chip. The 7 missed tackles, if you watch the game and not that stats board, where mostly when he’d shot out the line (as asked to do) and slowed the man down for the second man to get a dominant hit.

Also – he missed one kick at goal? Absolute madness.

Whether being ‘sat down’ via shoulder or hand he really needs to realise he’s 4 stone lighter than his dad so shouldn’t try and tackle like him.

The England- Wales second rows were competing against a higher level of opposition making it more difficult to shine. Bergman was reasonably solid but I don’t remember the Scottish pack dominating in the tight, which to me is how you judge a tight head.

The one Scot who was undeniably outstanding, Greg Laidlaw, doesn’t make the side, nor does Farrell whose “missed tackle” stats prove the old saying ” lies, damned lies and statistics”. Brown to me was a shoo-in at full back simply because he was performing under far more pressure than Kearney. One mistake could have been vital but he didn’t make it. I would also have Robshaw in front of Shingler at 6 even though he was out of position this week and Toner instead of Grey. Nobody ever mentions him but he must be horrible to play against.
