I just think with our guns out wide , midfield have been powerful . I only see chiefs locks as being there advantage . And MacKenzie couldn’t tackle his way out of a wet paper bag . Really looking forward to game .

Wed, 08 Mar 2017 16:19:43 +0000https://therugbyblog.com/?p=43695#comment-392739So we move onto round 3:
Chiefs v Hurricanes – Chiefs by 14 – Hurricanes haven’t been tested yet. By the time they adapt here they’ll be too far behind
Brumbies v Force – Brumbies by 3 – This game doesn’t whet the appetite much but I agree with you on this. Brumbies should have just enough.
Blues v Highlanders – Blues by 7 – What’s happened to the Highlanders? I think Tony Brown is struggling as head coach. Blues to win
Reds v Crusaders – Crusaders by 9 – The Crusaders should have enough to win here.
Kings v Stormers – Stormers by 15 – Don’t rate the Kings much. The Stormers have made a good start.
Cheetahs v Sunwolves – Cheetahs by 35 – The Cheetahs look a better team this season, the Sunwolves do not. I don’t think it will be 92-17 again, that was a freak result.
Sharks v Waratahs – Sharks by 6 – Tight but home advantage to be the difference
Jaguares v Lions – Lions by 7 – A tough one to pick, the Lions are away but I think they’ve got enough. The Jaguares need to reduce their yellow card count.

Wed, 08 Mar 2017 14:58:06 +0000https://therugbyblog.com/?p=43695#comment-392735Yellow card cost Hi-landers plenty against Crusaders and made it as always ,with a player in the bin ,an uneven competition.
Perhaps laws should be amended that it is always 15 against 15.
Yes retain yellow and Red cards but allow
replacements, spectators after all paid to watch 15 against 15. Yellow and red carded players
should suspended and fined, to the degree of their transgression.

Wed, 08 Mar 2017 12:11:14 +0000https://therugbyblog.com/?p=43695#comment-392721Dont know why everyone is carrying on as if the Lions sent their currie cup squad to Argentina .. it is a totally different squad and much more experience, depth and key players. The Lions can still win without 4 star players, will be tight but Lions by 8 . LFL

Why is the Lions depleted?
Any thoughts on the Chiefs Hurricanes game? Hurricanes hasnt have had a tough match where the Chiefs have won tough matches with decent margins

Wed, 08 Mar 2017 11:36:08 +0000https://therugbyblog.com/?p=43695#comment-392717I think the Highlanders will scrape the second New Zealand derby and the Jaguares will have to much in the tank for a depleted Lions side.

Wed, 08 Mar 2017 07:37:38 +0000https://therugbyblog.com/?p=43695#comment-392705Couple of tricky ones this week end and with the Lions leaving some key players out they may just fall short. Not so sure about Hurricanes .The Chiefs have beaten some good sides. I would also suggest that perhaps Tony Brown, although a legend at the Highlanders is a little out of his depth as coach at this level.I don’t the Highlanders of last couple of seasons would have thrown away a 20 or so point lead. And by the way I also picked the Force!
