After watching England play the first of three down under they can win for sure. At 1 nil up with two to go (no England touring team has won their first test before!) why shouldn’t they? England mixed it up with forwards and backs and a more robust style of play! The Australian backs with ‘ball-in-hand play’ were virtually unplayable at times firing bullet style passes to hold the advantage in tries (4-3) but English forward abrasion won four penalties accounting for the margin of the win. Burrell was a failure so Jones needs to call on either Slade or Teo. Oh the wealth of skilled players available! It’s a plethora! Can they win? Of course they bl**dy can!

Three games played. 2 – 1 to the Northern Hemisphere! (3-1 if you count the Saxons)
Can’t imagine it’ll stay in our favourite for all the Autumn tours but I’m enjoying it while it lasts.
So much for all the balls about how the North wouldn’t cut it in the world of speedy Super Rugby…

Have the site authors been out celebrating? Have they got sore heads & is this why they haven’t posted the results yet?
Anyway, a bit of a turn up as it happened.
Who’d have thought the Irish (would have turned over SA)? Couldn’t see the game as had to leave early for Neil Young. Have to watch on ‘catch up’.
Barnes of the S Times hails Eddie as a ‘genius’… for yanking Burrell & therefore saving the day. The unfortunate Burrell apparently was defending too narrow & was thus responsible for the Oz tries!
England caught Oz cold after the initial Wallaby blitz?Anyway, England fronted after the 1st 20 & took it to Oz, esp in the loose. Haskell seems to have justified Eddie’s faith in playing 2 6’s?
And in 2 10’s?
Well, we’ll know more nxt up. I still think it’s a flawed policy… 1 swallow & all that. It remains to be seen if this is a trend & England may do well to not read too much into this 1 (merited) win… yet.
A couple of turning pts. The 1st; the disallowed Oz try & 2ndly, the Oz ‘gift’ to Joseph. And Farrell kicked almost everything. Oz didn’t. I don’t expect the latter to be so generous again.
Whatever, on balance, it would have been unfortunate for England not to have won this one.
However, there’ve been slow SH starts before, so we’ll have to see if England can do it twice… or will Oz have worked the ‘rust’ out of their system by nxt Sat?
NZ did their ‘usual’. Well, sometimes @ least & racked them up in home strait.
They’ll have to tighten up on defence though. I thought Wales ran through them too often for comfort. For instance, Naholo left his opposite to go infield to help tackle the ball carrier who simply off loaded in/just before contact to his ‘wing’ man who simply scored unopposed in the in the l h corner!
Hansen should have ironed out these wrinkles by nxt Sat though… I trust!?
And the bench slotted in seamlessly enough.

After the first week of games I think that Ireland have a chance of winning the series, I think England will win their series. The All Blacks will easily win their series

Actually in answer to the ?, ‘yes’, but only, possibly, England… at this pt.
H’ever almost all stats favoured Oz despite the result, incl 4 to 3 tries, but they were ‘beasted’ (Jones of the S Times) @ the penalty count. The EC ref flogged them 15 to 6 (as I recall), so presumably all England fans will now def be voting ‘In’!
Expect SA & NZ to prevail though, so a ‘no’ here.
