But with Gethin starting at loosehead he could also be cover for the tighthead role. Which would mean you could have a loosehead specialist on the bench.

Where is Leigh Halfpenny in all of this, I would have him in there instead of Aled Brew, who in my opinion, is yet to prove himself on the international stage. I would drop Dwayne Peel as Travis Knoyle has a very good pass and is a very intelligent scrum half and Richie Rees has done exceptionally well in a Welsh shirt when he has played. I believe that Tovey and Priestland should be alternated in the Warm up Matches as we have all seen what Stephen and James can do at this level.

Does philips know they dont have mcdonalds in Bayonne ? how will he disgrace himself there? can you even rugby pass a baguette?

Mike Phillips has just been suspended by the WRU…Cardiff Blues scrum-half Lloyd Williams.

Phillips had to be restrained by police outside a McDonald’s in Cardiff!

Biggar’s ommission from the prelimary squad is a surprise given how much Gatland has talked him up. On form he deosnt deserve to make final squad but he is a far better player than Tovey.
I think that the fact that only seven subs will be allowed had a bearing on the props he selected because you need to have players with experience of playing both sides even if that means picking players who are maybe not the best as subs.

I’m sorry, but he’s been given the opportunity three times this season and it looks like he’s given up on each one in search of a better one.
Sadly, he’s not as good as he thinks – he thinks he’s the best player in the world – but he does still have the potential to be up there, just not with his current mindset.
I wish he would sort his head out, as he really does have that potential, but at the moment, he doesn’t care enough about the rugby.
