Why are people shocked at Gats selections. He has one outlook smash the rucks smash the ball carrier smash the tackler skill and flair r not required.in Gat world u lose b,cos ur not fit enough or ur kicks were poor, ur never beaten by a better or tactically superior team since he appeard in Irish rugby nothings changed , well rugby has , but not in Gat land

Watched extended highlights of the last game rather than the whole match but thought that Liam Williams looked completely out of his depth – or was that just the impression the highlights gave?

Has much respect as I have for Gatland as a coach I cannot believe he still has faith in PHILLIPS.

Not surprised to see Samson Lee starting – am surprised to see Adam Jones out of the squad completely.

Can’t believe Phillips is playing again though. I can think of one game that I have seen him play well since the 2011 WC (only went and had a great day at the Millennium against England didn’t he!!). Was dreadful in the 6N in 2013, even worse on the Lions tour and he has managed to out do himself this year. Dreadful for Wales. For a while I just thought that there was no other real option it Gatlands mind, but not, with the emergence of Gareth Davies (who I think looks fantastic!), WG still picks Phillips? How is this happening?

With his slow ball, similar scoreline to last week – if not worse.

Charteris & Phillips are living on past glories, I hope this is there last chance saloon shot.

Looking forward to seeing Baker, G Davies and Morgan coming off the bench, just hope SA arent 14 points or more ahead by that time!

I agree with the inclusion of Lee and Turnbull. I think Ball & Morgan are unlucky (although they are benched) but I do understand that it’s probably best to keep sweeping changes to a minimum. I do, however, find it incredulous that Phillips is retained over Davies.

Of the changes Gatland said “It’s a great opportunity for Samson and Josh and they deserve the chance after impressing from the bench last weekend.” And Gareth Davies didn’t?? Is it just me? Am I missing something obvious?
