It’s pretty much knockout rugby from the world go with just one team guaranteed to qualify from each group (the many positional play-off games aside).

I think crowd support is a bigger game shifter in the women’s game, where audiences tend to be smaller outside the WC and the Welsh team’s promise won’t be enough to hold up against a tried and tested side bolstered by the game’s most enthusiastic supporters.
