Has there ever been a rugby player to whinge more at the referee than Greig Laidlaw?
Peter o’Mahony?
Before this game Laidlaw was a doubt as captain because he didn’t talk to the referee enough…
Clearly then, he is trying to make up for it. The amount of times he threw a temper tantrum at the referee because he didn’t like the decision made him look like a petulant child.
Grieg Laidlaw has a mouth on him doesn’t he?
So Japan got Scotland wrong and “Really put it to them in the second half”, amazing how big he feels after the game, the reality of the situation is that after the effort Japan put in against South Africa 4 days ago they were realistically not going to win unlike Scotland who have had an extra 4 days to prepare and were fresh.
I think South Africa and Samoa will find them out and they have a realistic prspect of having to qualify on 2019, think on Grieg, think on.
Slightly one eyed. He also said “Credit to Japan, they were awesome in the first game against South Africa and again they were really tough opponents.” and “I felt Japan probably felt the four days today to be fair.” Eddie Jones was fairly mouthing off before the game to set himself up for a bit of a come back and Laidlaw only really repeated what Jones had said.
Credit where it’s due. It was a very efficient performance by Scotland that they can take confidence from. It wasn’t their fault that Japan had a 4 day turn around and not for them to get misty eyed or have sympathy on the pitch. They put Japan away efficiently and always seemed in control even for the periods when the scoreboard was close. Nothing has really changed for Scotland, they still need to get whatever they can from the South Africa game and have Samoa as their crunch match.
