This series really missed Sexton and a few others. The outcome might have been different and I think the scoring on both sides, higher as a result. The pendulum is swinging a bit. Ireland’s first ever win in SA, U2-‘s beating New Zealand and getting to the final, England returning to power with a clean sweep (feel sorry for the Aussies), and U20 championship winners.
Agree the pendulum is swinging, but the Boks showed character by coming back to win the last two tests. Although we discovered some great new talent at this level, namely Faf de Klerk and Ruan Combrink the problem lies with the center paring and we have a whole new style of playing. The main reason the Boks won this test is because they dominated the scrums, one can only really judge when we play both Australia and New Zealand away from home.
Dick, You shouldn’t have a problem there then against the Aussies as they have gone backwards since the WC! Got a bit too carried away patting themselves on the back I would imagine!
