Not what was expected to be honest, not to dismiss Italy but Ireland should have won comfortably as they do each year in the 6nations, they got the win though so again it goes to show even with a bad game coming away with the win, am concerned for how they will deal with bigger tests in the QF but maybe they will raise their game for it.

  2. + side: Ireland are more battle-hardened for the France game, which will be different proposition mentally.
    – side: If Italy could have been even slightly more clinical, and won their own lineout ball, Ireland would have A) been even more battle-hardened or B) even more desperate to beat France. But I can’t honestly say it would have been a bad thing if Ireland got beaten. We’ll simply never know.
    Ireland can beat this France team, especially if they have an off day. Unfortunately, I think we might need them to misfire as they’re looking like champs as usual at just the right time.
